Dear Douglas County Democratic Women,

As our fiscal year comes to an end, it is once again time to renew membership in our organization.  This is a critical election year and there is a lot at stake, nationally and locally, and a great deal of work and organizing that needs to be done.  For starters, locally there are two school board positions up for grabs, for State Assembly we have a great candidate, Erich Obermayr, who will need our support to replace the current Republican.  We may also have a candidate to support for the US House of Representatives. And there will be candidates for other positions, and ballot issues to support or oppose.

Also essential is our Community Service work where we show our support for Douglas County.  We also want to continue supporting our local students by growing our scholarship award program. And, of course, we also face the mundane costs of keeping our office and organization functioning to get it all done (rent, supplies, communications, public relations, social media, etc.).

For these reasons, the Board determined in March that we must raise our membership dues.  For Fiscal Year 24/25, each membership category, except for Living Lightly, will be raised $15. As a result, Standard Dues is $65; Supporter Dues is $80, and Sustainer Dues is $125.  Living Lightly Dues will remain $20.  We ask for extra funds from those who are able to contribute a little more so that we can support, sustain, and grow our organization.

A Membership Application is attached for your convenience.  Please make any necessary changes and be sure to update your contact information so that you continue to receive all necessary information.   Indicate in the appropriate boxes which information you do NOT wish to share with other members.

Please mail your check and your updated application information to the address as soon as possible. Renewals are due by May 10, 2024.  Feel free to bring them with you to the May 6, 2024, Membership Meeting.

We appreciate your continued participation and support for our mission!

Sincerely,

Nikki
